Women's lingerie dress, 1918, Cotton voile

The lingerie dress was worn throughout the previous decades of the Edwardian era, as well as throughout the 1910s. While earlier versions were typically very lacy and frilly, lingerie dresses from the late 1910s were much plainer and started to move towards the iconic silhouette and styles of the 1920s. The elements of this transition present in this lingerie dress are the loose and lowered waist, little ornamentation, and slimming skirts.
