This talk was part of the RCGS June Educational Program and also part of our "Walking Through History on the Linear Trail" project."As an established educator of Natural Science, Isaac Goodnow leads a group of sixty New Englanders, sponsored by the anti-slavery Emigrant Aid Company, to a frontier settlement in 1855 Kansas territory, their purpose being to vote to make Kansas a free state and not a slave state.Phil Anderson, has 45 years of teaching experience at the high school, private, and public college levels. He spent his final 31 years of teaching at K-State where he served as the first director of the Honor & Integrity System. Phil currently serves on the Manhattan Urban Area Planning Board, the Historic Resources Board, and is a Trustee of the Riley County Historical Museum. He is presently advocating for a walking/biking connection from downtown Manhattan to the Kansas Riverfront area."All RCGS programs are always free and open to the public.
