Here at the Chapman Center, we’d been working with Barry on the Walking Through History on the Linear Trail project. We had many conversations with him about history and life, and we learned that he had a sharp wit, strong opinions, and a wealth of stories to share. The one thing that was always clear to us, every time we spoke, was his enduring love for his wife.Barry was an incredible source of knowledge. He was an anthropologist focused on South Asian studies, and he had a long and successful career at K-State. He was also formerly the President of the Riley County Genealogical Society and knew so much about family and local history. Through our project, we’re glad we’ve been able to get to know him, hear his stories, and share some of his wisdom. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.
